12/14/03-- I'm finally home to my own bed. I'm sure my sister is happy about
that. She was so great. She helped me with everything I needed after my surgery. I'll tell you one thing I should have walked
more. Its more than for just preventing blood clots, it also helps strech out those newly healing muscles. As a result, almost
2 weeks out, I'm still a little sore. I couldn't be happier that I had this surgery. I have found that total bliss is when
you can eat 3 Tbsp. of food and are totally satisfied. I lost 12 lbs. my first week and am following all the rules.
Sounds like a good start to me. It will be a long jouney ahead, one that is long over due.
2/4/04-- Well here I am, two months post-op. For the most part it has been
an easy road. I did have some issues with food getting stuck but that has gotten better. I had my check up today, and I'm
down 51 lbs. according to the Dr's scale. Not too bad. My sister is down 183 lbs. She amazes me. I can't wait to be where
she is. She has already started planning our trip to Disney for this fall. I can't wait. It will be better than last time.
I won't be taking any extra "baggage" along.
2/17/04--Well it looks like I've finally hit a bump in the road. For a long
time I have been concerned about the amount of food I have been able too eat. I knew in my mind that 1-2 Tbsp. 2 1/2 months
out was not enough. Then I started having problems with cramping and vomiting. I went to see Dr. Halmi ( Dr. Anez was not
in) and I have an appt. to go see the gastroenterologist on Thurs. to get scoped. Dr. Halmi thinks it might either be an ulcer
or a stricture. We'll see. He's put me back on Prevacid for the time being. I hope it's nothing too serious. I hope to see
you all at meeting on Monday. Til then
3/8/04--Well it turned out to be a stricture that I had. I went in for an
EGD and had it dialated. Piece of cake ( I actually kind of enjoy it--what a nice nap) Anyway, I realize now that I can eat
"normally", I had been having problems since about one month post-op. I feel much better now. I have finally gotten into an
exercise routine. And I have dropped another clothes size--from a 34 to a 26, don't ya love it !
5/3/04-- It's my 5 month anniversary today, I am officially down 96 lbs.
and wearing a size 24 (not for long). I joined the gym and have been trying to go often. I still don't like to go. I'm feeling
better about my self every day.
2/7/06-- Amazing. It's the only word I can think of to describe the change that has been made in my life.
I now wear a size 12 and even those feel loose at times. I have had a lower body lift, bracioplasty, and a lateral tummy tuck.
Tommorow I'm going to see my surgeon to schedule my breast lift/augmentation, and all over lipo. After that I'll just have
my thight lift to tackle. It's a whole new world. Good luck.
